Our Story
Jacobian Engineering was founded in 2005. The idea was straightforward. Technology services should be built around what organizations actually need, not what's easiest to sell.
We started as a managed services practice helping companies run their IT operations. But as the compliance landscape evolved, we watched too many of our clients get burned. Audit firms competing on price instead of rigor. Automation platforms promising "SOC 2 in 30 days" while producing documentation that wouldn't survive real scrutiny. Growing companies stuck choosing between enterprise consultancies they couldn't afford and checkbox exercises that wouldn't actually protect them.
So we closed the gap. We already managed our clients' infrastructure and security operations, which meant we understood both the regulatory requirements and the technical controls needed to meet them. That combination became our foundation. We know what the framework says, and we know how to implement it.
In 2015, we became employee-owned. That decision aligned our long-term incentives with our clients' outcomes rather than short-term revenue. In practice, it means we'll tell you when you're not ready for a certification. We'll recommend the right-sized framework instead of the most expensive one. And we'll stay with you as a partner rather than disappearing after the audit.
Today Jacobian operates across two integrated divisions, IT services and compliance, serving SaaS companies, healthcare organizations, and growing businesses nationwide. We continue to evolve. Our team is actively researching AI governance and federated learning security, because the threats and regulations never stop changing. Neither do we.
